The secretariat for CLIMATE SOLUTIONS Thy & Mors was established in connection with The UN climate summit in Copenhagen 2009 to heighten knowledge of climate solutions created in the Danish regions of Thy and Mors. Our area has the right carbon neutral solutions using renewable energy, which in 2007 was the direct cause of Thisted receiving the prestigious Eurosolar Prize in Berlin.

The approximately 70.000 citizens of Thy and Mors and the local industries are using electricity exclusively produced by renewable energy. The area is likewise using district heating largely produced by renewable energy.

Renewable energy and energy saving technologies have a global growth of up to 30 percent. This creates the foundation for future proofing companies and jobs. By spreading the knowledge of local climate solutions and initiate and develop projects in renewable energy the secretariat wishes to strengthen Thy and Mors and open the area for new possibilities.

There has never been a better opportunity to brand our local communities and competences. Now we can get maximum benefit from the knowledge already existing about our climate solutions in Thy and Mors. The secretariat for CLIMATE SOLUTIONS Thy & Mors collects local competences on an active homepage with a high Google rating. Thy and Mors will be promoted and our area of expertise demonstrated in text and pictures. The secretariat for CLIMATE SOLUTIONS Thy & Mors also gathers relevant news for an electronic newsletter which will be distributed to all who are interested.

We’re conducting seminars and participate in trade fairs, meetings and arrangements drawing attention to our cause.  The work of the secretariat is culminating in the participation in the UN climate summit in Copenhagen, which will take place from 30th November to the 11th of December 2009. Here we will demonstrate the climate solutions of Thy and Mors. The target of CLIMATE SOLUTIONS Thy & Mors is to establish Thy and Mors as reference areas for climate friendly energy solutions. This will contribute to industry, occupation and tourism in Thy and Mors.
